OMAN BOTANIC GARDEN

Muscat, Oman

The Sultanate of Oman is currently establishing a botanic garden that will be at the forefront of the world’s botanical institution. The Oman Botanic garden is to be established on a 425 hectares site near Muscat. The flora of Oman will be displayed as natural habitats, including those of both northern and Southern Oman that will need to be grown in especially design conservatories. Incorporating the Arabic culture of Oman, The OBG will be a unique and extremely important tourism and conservation project for the Middle East.
 
The main components of this project are:
 
- Northern Habitats Biome
- Southern Habitats Biomes
- Resort Complex
- Living exhibition and heritage area
- Study and Research centre
- Visitor Orientation Exhibition and event area
- Wilderness reserve and camping facilities
- General site infrastructure and Hard and Soft Landscaping works.
 
CCCRA/ OBMI were awarded for the architectural and multidisciplinary design services for the project, starting with the scheme design of all components up to the construction and post construction (RIBA stages: D, E, F, G, H, J, K, and L). This project is currently under construction.
